Easter pics... finally!

We started our Easter celebration with Grandma Gay and Grandpa David the Sunday before Easter since they werent home Easter Sunday. We had a yummy dinner- ham, potatoes, carrot cake, etc. Delicious! We also got to enjoy some of General Conference together. They were very sweet- Hid eggs for Olive to find and had a basket of goodies for each grandaughter!

Grandma Susie and Grandpa John sent the girls these adorable monkey jams for Easter!

I made carrot cake with a cream cheese frosting for Easter dinner. Olive tested it out for me and gave me the thumbs up!

Our neighborhood held their annual Easter egg hunt on Saturday!

We took time Easter Sunday evening to talk to Olive about the resurrection and the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Two year olds dont absorb much but we felt it important for her to understand that Easter is truly about that combined with a Spring celebration. She learned how to say resurrection and I feel like some of it sunk in. It is wonderful to think of the sacrifice that he gave for me. I love the fact that I can enjoy this life with all its ups and downs and know that this isnt it. And that I have a chance at being perfected someday because of His mercy. My soul can find relief because of this. Happy Easter to you all!

Easter Bunny visit

We went to the Worthington Easter Egg hunt on Friday night! Expecting the same reaction that Santa got, I was shocked when BOTH my girls thought the Easter bunny was just about the coolest thing they had ever seen. We went on an egg hunt trail and then sat on the Bunny's lap. Good times!

Evie's first birthday!

You've come a long way baby!
Evie turned ONE on Wednesday! We celebrated Wednesday night with a birthday brownie, Evie's very first taste of chocolate. She thought it was only alright.... but then suddenly it all disapeared from her tray. "Just like her momma." Jason said.

On Sunday, we had a little Birthday Breakfast for her!The girls anxiously awaited the arrival of a few friends and family members!

I made her a giant chcolate cupcake with fresh strawberry icing thinking that since the brownie was a hit, she would love it! She didn't want ANYTHING to do with it!

As she tried to get away, big sis decided to try to help her figure out what she was supposed to do!

We had a great time and are grateful to those who came to celebrate with us or celebrated with us in spirit! We love our Evie, our little one year old. She has taught me to actually appreciate many things about motherhood (particularly the first year of baby's life) that I previously found demanding and overwhelming. Its amazing how loving another doesnt cause you to love someone else any less. My heart just feels like it is continuosly expanding and the love just continues to grow. I'm so grateful for our little family, we are so very, very blessed!
